A very pretty Chinese hand painted underglaze blue planter with double walled side panels. In very good condition with the exception of one corner which was broken and glued back into position. A nicely shaped plate with floral design with bat and peach motif painted on the underside for good luck. Nyonya wares are over-glaze polychrome enamelled porcelains made in Jingdezhen in the Kiangsi province of China for the Straits Chinese, or Babas, whose female counterparts are called Nyonyas, hence the term Nyonya ware.
