Nyonya wares are over-glaze polychrome enamelled porcelains made in Jingdezhen in the Kiangsi province of China for the Straits Chinese, or Babas, whose female counterparts are called Nyonyas, hence the term Nyonya ware. Nonya wares were mainly reserved for festive occasions and special functions. Size: 15cm. H. 5.6cm. Condition: No repairs or chips. Some wear on the inside of the bowl.

Two narrow bands are at the top. The interior is a pale aqua color. The scalloped edge is unglazed. 6 3/4” high. 19th century. Fine quality restorations have been executed to an old hairline in the interior of the bell and to a small area of damage at the scalloped edge...
