Sold to China - March 2012 售至中国 - 2012 年3月 A rare and very finely enamelled deep dish depicting two cranes, a pine tree and lingzhi fungus (all symbols for long life) and two bats (good luck). The base carries the six character iron red reign mark of the Guangxu emperor and this item was made during his reign (1875-1908). Condition - there are three 2.5cm (1 inch) light hairlines running from the rim (please view enlargements); no further damages and no restoration...
From our Chinese Monochrome Collection, a very fine pair of blanc de chine (dehua) fu dogs modeled as taper stick holders, either late Ming / early Shunzhi (1620-1650), or possibly early Kangxi Period (circa 1662-1690), of well-known and documented form, with each fu dog perched atop a rectangular base with a brocaded ball under its paw and a ribbon held in its mouth...

Sold to China - May 2013 售至中国 - 2013 年5月 A very finely potted and finely painted blue and white vase depicting three five-clawed dragons, amongst cloud scrolls, in pursuit of flaming pearls and above stylized breaking waves. The base carries the six character seal mark of the Qianlong emperor (1736-1795) but, after three years deliberation, we have come to the conclusion that this item was probably made later, circa 1880-1920, during the late Qing or early Republic periods...

This porcelain dish was made during the latter part of the Wanli reign (1573 - 1620). The underglaze blue features a bird in a landscape in the centre panel, surrounded by alternating precious objects and peach sprays. The underside is more simply decorated with dots separated into eight panels. The rim is slightly flared and the rim edge is foliated... This fine and very attractive blue & white porcelain dish of good size, and with a foliated rim, was made during the Wanli reign (1573 - 1620) of the Ming Dynasty. The decoration is particularly fine and the underglaze blue is of very good colour. The pattern features in its centre two birds, one standing on a rock within a garden, the other in flight... This very attractive "Kraak" porcelain dish was made at the Jingdezhen kilns during the Wanli reign (1573 - 1620) of the Ming Dynasty. The pattern, in underglaze blue of good colour, features in its centre a tasselled double-gourd vase and an artemesia leaf (one of the "eight treasures"). This attractive blue & white porcelain bowl was made c. 1470 - 1490. It is quite heavily-potted and coated in a crackled glaze. This very attractive porcelain bowl was made during the second half of the 16th century, c.1570 - 1590. The outer wall is very nicely decorated in underglaze blue, the pattern featuring a bird within a floral landscape. A flower blossom within two rings decorates the inside centre. This attractive small porcelain jar, a brush washer, was made during the late 15th to early 16th century. It is relatively heavily-potted and decorated in underglaze blue of very good colour with a pattern featuring scrolling lotus blossoms. Both inner and outer surfaces are coated in a thick glaze.
