Dramatic pair of large Chinese porcelain baluster form vases with green dragons, light green dragons on one side, dark green dragons on the other, a band of scrolling vines at the base, the necks are decorated with bats and clouds, the rim with birds and flowers, each has two blue dragon handles, Dao Guang 19th century. A pair of Chinese porcelain bowls decorated with peonies. The bowl contains a short poetic inscription which generally states: As if (one is) cherishing the beautiful, likewise at the moment (the flowers) are displaying its colors. The bottom of the bowl contains a mark reading, Yongzheng Nianxing. Age: Republic Period. Size: diameter: 4.3" height 2"

A pair of Chinese Pekinese dogs made of porcelain and glazed in the sancai palette. Condition: few tiny rim frits, one dog on the back with few small firing defects (please see photo No. 8). Dimension: c. 14 cm long x 9.5 cm high, weight: c. 480 and 580 g.

Pair of hard porcelain vases, enamel decoration of butterflies, birds and flowers. Dragons chasing the sacred pearl surround the collar inside and out. Golden details. The flared shape is elegant and very rare, the enamels are of excellent quality, the patterns are well drawn and the presence of dragons is also rare on this type of porcelain which, almost always, was intended for Europe. Good general condition, no restoration...

Pair of Chinese late Qing dynasty Guangxu period hexagonal form hat stands with melon form vent holes decorated in underglaze blue on a white porcelain ground with various figures interspersed among auspicious objects. Scrolling vines are at the top of one. The interiors are glazed with only the footrims left unglazed. Circa 1900. 10 1/2" high each. Very good overall condition. One had a small professionally executed repair to an edge that is not visible to the eye or under black light...

An attractive pair of antique Chinese porcelain plates, each hand painted with a large, leaping blue carp with russet colored cross-hatched scales. The carp was an auspicious fish in China and a symbol of perseverance and success, often applied to success in business enterprises and state examinations. In excellent condition (no cracks, chips or hairlines), this pair of deep-dish plates would have served as large shallow bowls as well...

Pair of large Chinese Qing dynasty lidded ginger jars decorated in underglaze blue with Buddhist lion dogs among flames and clouds set against a white porcelain ground. Glazed base and interior. Including the lid, each jar measures about 11 1/4" - 11 1/2" height and diameter with one jar slightly larger than the other. 19th century. Very good overall condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. Typical production imperfections...

Pair of hard porcelain pheasants covered with "famille rose" enamels, gilt details. "compagnie des indes" style. Although the style is Chinese from the 18th century, these are late copies Probably Chinese work from the 20th century, perhaps from the Republican period. The enamels are beautiful and thick, some details are gilded. Base unglazed, no mark. Good condition, except the beak of a pheasant broken and badly restored . Height: 29cm
