Late 19th Century Chinese Blue & White Porcelain Planter with Lady & Deer

The planter is 7.5 inches (19 cm) tall by 9.8 inches (25 cm) wide. The under plate is 2 inches (5 cm) tall by 9.4 inches (24 cm) wide. The overall height is 8.2 inches (20.8 cm). The total weight is 6.5 Lb.

It has dark spots and water stains (as seen in the photos).

DESCRIPTION: A fierce pair of Chinese pottery foo dogs, early Qing, 18th/19th C., covered with a heavy green glaze and seated on pedestals. Each bares its teeth ferociously while holding a ball between their front paws as well as in their mouths. Good detail with finely ribbed backs and curled manes. Very good condition. DIMENSIONS: Each approximately 9 ½” high (24 cm) x 5” wide (12.7 cm).

A nicely shaped plate with floral design with bat and peach motif painted on the underside for good luck. Nyonya wares are over-glaze polychrome enamelled porcelains made in Jingdezhen in the Kiangsi province of China for the Straits Chinese, or Babas, whose female counterparts are called Nyonyas, hence the term Nyonya ware. Nyonya wares were mainly reserved for festive occasions and special functions. Size: 19.5 x 13.5cm. Condition: No repairs. Normal wear.

Chinese Blue and White Porcelain Double Happiness Ginger Jar with fitted Rosewood carved top, Ca. late 1800's, 10 1/2" high with wooden top, 9" wide-widest part, 4 1/4" diameter-top rim, underglaze blue Double Happiness with Snow Pea flowers and vines, typical Straits culture design in China. The condition is good, very tight star shape glaze hairline on the bottom in the center about 2" to 3" wide, very old chip inside the top rim, this jar rings like bell.

Chinese antique yuhuchunping, pear shaped porcelain vase with a short foot and slender neck flaring at the rim. Decorated with a copper-red underglaze scene of a four-clawed dragon amid swirling clouds. The inside of the rim is decorated with a classic scroll motif. The area just above the foot of the vase is encircle with a band of trefoils.

A very high quality Canton vase with interesting scenes of life in the 19th century. Size: H.60cm. W.26cm. Condition: Perfect except for a small break on the rim that has been attached with the original piece. Can easily be restored professionally. See last photo.

Antique Chinese pair of porcelain vases with flared foliate rims and pear shaped bodies. Glazed with a turquoise color ground incised with a flower motif, the front and back of each vase is decorated with two highly raised dragons and swirling clouds in a yellow glazed medallion reserve. Each vase has dragon handles and the ground is decorated with applied objects of scholarly pursuits. Bases impressed with a Quinlong mark but these vases are 19th century.

Chinese small porcelain cup, eggshell thin body, raised on slightly recessed foot. The cup is enameled in motifs of grapes on coiled vines and peonies. The base with red 4 character seal.

A celadon-glazed porcelain vase in the shape of a drum. Decorated with slightly raised bands on top and bottom, and a pair of molded mask and ring handles on the shoulder. 19th century. Chinese Qing dynasty blue and white export porcelain deep punch bowl decorated around the exterior circumference in the traditional Canton or Nanking pattern with figures on bridges and in boats on a lake, willow trees, and traditional buildings in a landscape scene. A circular panel in the center of the bowl holds a similar scene. A geometric band extends around the interior and exterior rim. Solidly 19th century. 11 1/4" diameter x 4 1/2" high. Large Chinese Qing dynasty blue and white porcelain basin with a central interior roundel decorated in the Canton style with a figure in a traditional pavilion in a landscape scene surrounded by water boats and a bridge. Hanging jewels extend around the circumference of the well and a border is along the rim. Three bamboo sprays are on the exterior. The unglazed base is flat. 19th century. 13 1/4" diameter x 4 1/2" high...

A Chinese porcelain gourd-shaped vase in coral-red glaze. "Daqing Jiaqing Nianzhi" six characters mark inside the foot rim, and of the period. The vase is in excellent condition: no chip, no crack, no restoration, but just a few glaze scratches. Height: 6".
