Rare Large Chinese Song Dynasty Stoneware Granary Jar & Cover (AD 960 -1279)
This rare and unusual stoneware jar, complete with its original elaborate cover, was made during the Song Dynasty (AD 960 - 1279). Both cover and jar have architectural elements; they represent a granary with a tiled roof... Chinese Song dynasty longquan celadon washer bowl. 12,7 cm diameter. Crackled glaze. Good condition except small chipped at the foot rim. (please see on the pictures).

Chinese Song / Yuan Dynasty Qingbai Glazed Porcelain Covered Jar
This attractive small covered jar was made during the 13th / 14th Century (Song / Yuan Dynasty). It is coated inside and out in a pale slightly greenish-blue Qingbai glaze. Around its waist are deeply incised lines for decoration and it stands on quite a sturdy foot. The cover has a carved pattern to give it the appearance of a tiled roof; this jar represents a granary. Height 8 cm... Chinese Ming dynasty blue and white bowl with dragon motive. 15,5 cm diameter. Bowl have chipped at the rim on restorations.

It is "heavily-potted", made from a cream-coloured stoneware, the upper two-thirds of the body coated in a white slip, decorated with a floral pattern in thick dark brown/black underglaze pigment, then coated in a finely-crackled transparent glaze... This very rare stoneware jar was made during the Song Dynasty (AD 960 - 1279), at one of the kilns in northern China where Cizhou wares were produced during the 11th - 14th centuries. Its purpose was most likely to be used as a wine bottle. It is heavily-potted and of a very attractive form, an almost egg-shaped body, with a short neck, flared mouth and loop handles on either side of the neck (although one has been lost)... This very rare cup or bowl stand was made during the Song Dynasty (AD 960 - 1279), most likely at the Cizhou kilns in Hebei province. This attractively-shaped stoneware jar, or bottle, was made during the Yuan Dynasty (AD 1279 - 1368) at one of the kilns in the north of China specialising in Cizhou wares. It is "heavily-potted" and has four loop handles around the shoulder. The body is coated in a white slip with the upper body decorated in underglaze iron-brown pigment on top of which is a transparent glaze. The lower body is coated in a brown glaze...
