A Yuan Dynasty octagonal "belimbing shaped" jarlet which most likely represents the so far best existing piece of its kind. Please look in any private - or Museum collection and you will not find a better example. A jarlet of octagonal ( belimbing ) shape, decorated with splashed iron brown spots and a Qingbai ( Yingqing ) glaze over a porcelain body. The flat base unglazed. Yuan Dynasty 1279 - 1368. From our Chinese Polychrome Collection, a truly superb example of Qianlong Period (1736-1795) Famille Rose porcelain, depicting a lady receiving what is either wine or tea, while her female servant attends to her with a fan. The outer border is decorated with eight individual reserves executed alternatively in either puce or black, with each puce reserve so well-executed that they are essentially miniature paintings in their own right...

From our Chinese Blue and White Collection, an absolutely superb Kangxi Mark and Period Charger, 1662-1722, depicting an elegant lady in a garden pavilion tending to a lit censer while her servant stands adjacent with a ruyi-shaped fan. An egret flies overhead and two rabbits sit in the foreground beneath a banana leaf plant. On the outer rim, there are four cartouches of other elegant ladies interspersed with four cartouches of flowering plants, all separated by key fret reserves...

One of the best ever seen Guandong ( South China ) Shiwan ware dishes. Seventeenth Century. Shiwan pieces like this do try to imitate the famous glazes of the Song Dynasty ( mostly the glazes of Jun or Jizhou pieces ). Diameter : 20,3 cm. Condition : Perfect.

Description: An old wood incense utensil's holder was intriguingly carved from one original wood trunk. Making use the fine quality Huali wood, the scholar piece was rendered delicately on the top around the rims of the hole and around the top. Being preserved with the original old patina, the wood scholar item was in good size of 16.3cm in height and in perfect condition. Date: Qing dynasty(19th century), Height: 16.3cm. Exemplifying the serene beauty of Song sculptural art, the deity’s head dress was an ornate tiara which had been partially damaged.
In holy facial expression, the Bodhisattva was molded and carved by the features of a Chinese lady.
When applied with white pigment on the face, the Bodhisattva was decorated with glassed eyes.
