A Yuan Dynasty octagonal "belimbing shaped" jarlet which most likely represents the so far best existing piece of its kind. Please look in any private - or Museum collection and you will not find a better example. A jarlet of octagonal ( belimbing ) shape, decorated with splashed iron brown spots and a Qingbai ( Yingqing ) glaze over a porcelain body. The flat base unglazed. Yuan Dynasty 1279 - 1368. On the outer rim, there are four cartouches of other elegant ladies interspersed with four cartouches of flowering plants, all separated by key fret reserves...
