It has 20 pages and 40 Yuzen-zome kosode designs. The book is made of washi (Japanese handmade paper.) Published by Yoneyama-do in Tokyo in 1926. In excellent condition.

$65.00 Three Water Droppers from Japan. Two droppers show a boy holding a red snapper fish which is symbolic of good luck. The third dropper has Hotei's bag holding the water. Hotei is the god of contentment and happiness, and his bag holds an inexhaustible cache of treasures. The standing boy measures about 3" high x 1 3/4" wide. The riding boy measures about 3" x 1 3/4" high. The bag with pot measures about 3 1/2'wide x 2" tall. All three droppers date to the early 20th Century...

Artist: Unidentified. Size: Approximately 5.625 x 3.625 inches 14.2 x 9.2 cm Date: ca. 1910. Publisher: Matsumoto (No. 425). Medium: Japanese woodblock print. Condition: Excellent. Wave in paper where original publisher's tag is attached to the back. The Matsumoto catalog states, "Butterflies are flitting to and fro among the flowers." An early and rarely seen design.

Blue underglaze mark centered within the foot rim. Fair to decent condition with a few frit like flea bites to the glaze along the rims. No cracks and no hairlines. Diameter each about 7 1/8 inches (18.1 cm)

$70.00 Three Shishi lions or “Foo dogs”, the guardian animals that used to be placed outside temples and imperial buildings. Two of the three originally formed the knobs of urn lids, the third and smallest is a lid from a miniature incense vessel or urn. Two with aubergine and green/turquoise glaze, the third in crackle-glaze gilt. Height of biggest Foo dog "2¾/ 7 cm, of smallest "1/ 2,5 cm. Condition: the angry, middle-sized dog has got his right back leg restored.
