Japanese woodblock print by Katsuyuki Nishijima (b. 1945) depicting a shop front. This is an original, kanji titled, pencil-signed, limited edition print numbered 21/500 in the bottom margin. Late 20th century. Paper size 17" x 12 3/8" (image: 15 7/8" x just under 11 1/4"). Full margins. Excellent condition. There is one small piece of tape at the top back margin edge.

Japanese Chestnut color wooden Sake Barrel, Ca. 1940, 7" high, 11 1/2" diameter top rim, wrapped around with twisted Bamboo ropes, and stopper, signed Kanji writings on the bottom outside. The condition is good.

A Japanese Kutani porcelain Koro or incense burner, with a round body raised on three animal-mask legs and applied with shishi-mask handles. The domed, pierced cover is surmounted with a further shishi. The whole decorated in overglaze enamels with peacock and golden pheasant amid rocks and peonies, all on a yellow "roe" ground. Marked with a seal to the base "Kutani" amidst scrolling clouds, it dates late 20th C, circa 1980, and is in excellent condition...

Contemporary Japanese limited edition etching titled “Twilight” by Ryoko Hirone depicting a woman drinking a cup of tea observing a scene outside her window with a coyote and rabbit among leafless trees. Pencil-signed, titled, and numbered 7/30 in the lower margin. Paper size: 9 5/8" x 13 7/8" (image: 7 1/2" x 6 3/4"). Very good overall condition. An exhibit of mezzotints and etchings by Ryoko Hirone was held in Japan at Gallery Saoh & Tomos in 2003...

Each cup has beautifully handpainted with thick enamel work of green border with line works. The design on the center with Grapes and Squirrel design. Back side with brown glaze painting with line works which the photo could not captured the design...

A Japanese thinly potted porcelain bowl that is decorated both inside and out with scenes of a Japanese village. The artist has detailed the houses, lake, boat, fisherman, people and a temple, and applied a beautiful gold border. The bowl measures about 2 1/2" high x 6" in diameter, and dates to the end of the Meiji Period. The bowl has been signed "eight days made", which is similar to the names of other Kutani studios from this period. The condition is excellent/perfect...

A 1920's Wakasa lacquer clam trinket box. Both sides match and the two pieces fit together perfectly. Dating from the 1920's, it measures 4.75" across, 2.25" high, 3.75" front to back. Wakasa craftsman developed the process of layering lacquer coats of different colors during the Edo period.

There is an understated elegance in the work of Saito Hiroyuki which is very difficult to describe, but blatantly apparent the moment one holds his work. This guinomi is expertly crafted, rough textured outside with a smooth rim leading to the dark inner “Ma” (emptiness), ready to be filled. It is 6.5 cm (2-1/2 inches) diameter, 5 cm (2 inches) tall and in excellent condition, directly from the artist...
