Contemporary Korean single section kitchen cabinet, made with bold elm wood (Keyaki in Japanese). This piece has an upper and lower set of sliding doors with attractive latticework over rice paper. The top and mid region have four small drawers across, with the very top middle drawers as hidden compartments. The bottom of the piece has two doors on hinges, and a middle lock to match the others.

Delicate fish scale patterns in gold on bronze lacquer highlight old chips on the rim of this large Yamachawan Tea bowl dating from the Kamakura to early Muromachi periods (12th -15th centuries). Blue glaze twinkles on the heavily eroded surface, where Shizen-yu ash pooled and crystallized. There is a large slash in the glaze where another bowl had been stacked inside, and there are much losses to the surface glazing typical of excavated works...

Antique Japanese small Kiri (paulownia) wood bar tansu, with five front drawers opened by squared iron handles. Its three mid front drawers are kept secure by a locking bar with decorative iron plates. The side of the chest has a safe door, with pierced iron hardware. The safe door opens to reveal three more small drawers inside.
