Two matching small Imari dishes with high quality applied decoration, including the "three gentlemen" at the center of each dish (pine, bamboo, and plum blossom). The dishes have a scalloped edge, and have a stylized Ching Dynasty, Yung Cheng, reign mark on the recessed base. Each dish measures about 5 1/2" in diameter x 1" high, and dates to the mid 19th Century. The condition is excellent/perfect. The asking price includes shipping within the USA.

A beautifully shaped cloisonné enamel incense burner with roundels containing flowers or butterflies amidst spiral shaped wire ground. Gilt wires, rim and base. Condition: fine, partial little wear to gilding. Dimension: c. 12.3 cm high.

A rare late 1950s to '60s sculptural work by Kitade Fujio, an artist credited with bringing Kutani into the modern age, enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled Hekimen Ni Seshite Okizaru Kaki (Vase left abandoned by the wall). The clay is quite pure, covered in blasts of black and beige. It is 9-1/4 x 5-1/2 x 11 inches (24 x 14 x 28 cm) and in excellent condition. A rare sculptural basin by Kiyomizu Kyubei dating from the late 1950s signed on the base Yo. Very heavy, it is 11 x 8 x 9 inches (28 x 20 x 23.5 cm) and is in excellent condition. This came from the Rokubei family estate. No box. Early works by Kyubei are rare because, according to the catalog: Yagi Kazuo to Kiyomizu Rokubei (exhibited at the Muse Tomo in Tokyo, 2017) “he changed names several times and is said to have destroyed the works he produced in those days...

Two shades of black form ethnic patterns on this hishigata vessel by Kiyomizu Rokubei dating circa 1960 nearly identical to figure 12 (page 85) of the catalog Yagi Kazuo to Kiyomizu Rokubei exhibited at the Muse Tomo in Tokyo in 2017. An unusal tri-legged bronze incense burner with finialed dome pierced top signed on the underside. It is 6 inches (14.5 cm) diameter, 7 inches (18 cm) tall and in fine condition, dating circa 1935. Hori Joshin was a student of Oshima Joun and was active from the early to mid 20th century.

A Japanese heavy bronze incense burner with Murashido marbled areas decorating the sides, bottom, and lid. The burner is six sided, has a lid pierced with three bats (good fortune), and a top knob in the shape of a mushroom (long life). There is a makers mark stamped on the bottom (Esteemed Hall?). The burner measures 4 1/2" tall x 3 1/2" in diameter. We cannot find any comparable bronze burners, but we believe it dates to the turn of the Century. The condition is excellent with minor wear...

An 18th Century Japanese porcelain scalloped serving bowl, with lid, decorated with the Imari colors of red, blue, white, cream, and gold. The tureen measures about 9 1/4" long x 6 1/2" wide x 7" tall. The Shippo design family crest has been applied in gold on the blue panels. The finial is modeled as a sixteen pedal chrysanthemum blossom. The condition is excellent, with some wear to gold highlights. The asking price includes shipping within the USA.
