Japanese cotton obi from mid to late Showa period, 1980s(?). This obi was sold from the Mitsukoshi Department Store (2 logos attached at the corner). 100 percent cotton, new condition with some color loss. 12 1/4" wide x 141" long; it weighs approx. 1.2 pounds.

Yukata (cotton unlined kimono) with shibori (tie-dye) whose motifs are tomoe (three-way), aboshi (fishing net being dried) and a logo with the character uma (horse). The shibori techniques are: Miura shibori and Ori-nui shibori (folded and stitched). It is hand-sewn and all tie-dye is by hand. Vegetable indigo dyed. Japanese kimono with Kikko turtle shell design, mid Showa, new condition. 49 1/4" wide x 57" long.

Elegant Japanese Cotton Jacket with sashiko hand stitches, slits on the sides, new condition. The small stitches go through from the front to back or back to front. The stitches on the front were sewn right along the stripes that they do not show up much but it gave a nice, gentle texture to the front. Dimensions: 37" wide x 39" long

Japanese Cotton rug with indigo an off white natural beige tones. A consistent geometric pattern of turtle shell shape with floral centerpiece detail. Made of 100% natural Japanese cotton. Soft to the touch, the original indigo blue shows well.

A pair of ceramic Cormorants by preeminent early 20th century Master Miyanaga Tozan enclosed in the original signed wooden box. The cormorant has a special place in Japanese art. Like the hawk is a bird used in hunting, the cormorant is a bird used in fishing. A rope would be tied around the long necks of any number of the birds, them then taken out into the water with huge torches burning on the prows of the fishing boats...

Celadon tea cup with corded patterns glazed in the Jômon zogan style made by Tatsuzô Shimaoka (1919-2007, Mingei school). Developed by himself, this style is inspired by ancient processes such as the Jômon string-printing technique (ca. 13,000 – 800/300 B.C.) and the Korean process of the Joseon period (1392-1897) of adding white slip with decorative indentations...

A very lovely small Japanese teapot accented with decorative running splashes of gold against a dark brown almost black backdrop. The same color can be seen on the bottom 1/5 of the teapot just under the handle and continues to include the base bottom. The copper remaining exposed copper has a deep copper patina that comes only with age and usage. The handle features intricate basketry weaving. This was a treasured teapot and would make an excellent decorative specialist addition to your home...

Japanese hand Hammered Copper Tetsubin, Tea Kettle, Tea Pot, signed, 1930's, 11" high include handle up, 9" wide include spout, with etched design of Butterfly and Lotus flower inside the fan shape Cartouche, spout has closed hinged top to keep hot tea or hot water warm for longer period of time. Handle can be placed down and up, slight dents shows on the both sides.

Japanese Copper Tetsubin, Copper Tea Kettle, tea pot with Bamboo wrapped handle, 10 1/4" high with handle, 8 3/4" wide with spout, 6" wide-tea pot only, design of overlapping piece of cloth on the top of the tea pot, and Pewter coated inside and under the cover. Wrapped Bamboo handle is in good condition, bottom is dented and blackened over the years, and shows three(3) needle point size of holes on the bottom.

Antique Japanese copper censer with handles. The pierced copper lid has a repousse design of a dragon in swirling storm clouds with lightening. The body of the censer is hammered copper and has two warabite shaped handles on either side.

A Japanese copper writing box used for paper and writing supplies. The lid is engraved with grape leaves and grape clusters. The border is nail studded. The interior is beige velvet.

Urushi bowl made by Kizaki Tsukiho (1984~) who is an emerging urushi craftsman in Shiga Pref. He makes a wood bowl himself and paints urushi too, generally it is done by each craftsman. Texture is rather rough comparing with common urushi bowl but stronger. Contemporary. In excellent condition. Diameter:11.5cm H:8.3cm

A piece of cloth with many kinds of cotton shibori fragments. It shows several kinds of shibori techniques. All machine-sewn. In excellent condition but white parts are slightly changed to pinkish because of the color bleeding. The second half of the 20th century. 45cm x 2m

A vest made of wash, Japanese handmade paper made from mulberry fiber and vegetable indigo dyed katazome (stencil-resist-dye) pattern. It is made in Toriyama in Tochigi prefecture, north of Kanto Plane. Washi has been made in the region from about 700 years ago. It is made by Fukuda Washi Producer. In excellent condition.
