Daruma is sculpted in a sitting position, his body round and compact, as he struggles to keep his eyes open after nine years of meditation. Furoshiki (wrapping cloth) with tsutsugaki kamon (family crest), Maruni-Yotsume. It is made of hand spun cotton and vegetable indigo dyed. It has indigo color bleeding in the kamon. It is not sure whether it is original dye, or bleeding from washing, however, it gives some depth and taste. Generally in good condition but has some breaks and some tiny holes. Small chaire, tea caddy for use at the tea ceremony during colder months, in the shape of a double gourd. Thinly wheel turned, cream-colored stoneware covered in a translucent, finely crackled glaze. The crackle has turned brown in larger areas. Over the glaze a design of arabesques, stylized flowers and stylized waves have been applied in over-glaze blue and green enamels and gold.
