Small chaire, tea caddy for use at the tea ceremony during colder months, in the shape of a double gourd. Thinly wheel turned, cream-colored stoneware covered in a translucent, finely crackled glaze. The crackle has turned brown in larger areas. Over the glaze a design of arabesques, stylized flowers and stylized waves have been applied in over-glaze blue and green enamels and gold.
