A lovely pair of Hoi An Shipwreck Annamese bowls dating to the 15th century. They are excellent condition, save for the glaze that is matte. They measure 4.5" wide and 3" high.

Description:

A bronze Buddha of Ming Dynasty was well preserved with fine gilding condition on the surface.
By darken sheen and with very limited abrasion on the ridges of the carvings, the Buddha was kept in a perfect condition except loss of the undercover.
Red protection slip was painted inside the hollowed inner side.

This Middle Edo Period metal "armor for the face" is known by many names: mengu, menpo, mempo, men yoroi, katchu men. Menpo means "face and cheek" and is generally used for masks with nose pieces.
