Sold through our Liverpool shop - September 2012 利物浦店内售出 - 2012年9月 A carved sandstone Khmer relief fragment in (Mahayana Buddhist) Angkor Wat style and mounted on a stand. This item was carved in what is now Cambodia, probably during the reign of King Jayavarman VII (1181–1215 AD). . Condition - very good - the edges are damaged but, although weathered, there are very few surface losses. 60cm long. Please note: we regret that, because this item is very heavy and difficult to post, we will be unable to ship internationally.

A wood panel depicting the flying Apsaras was in good condition. Obviously a part of building structures, this ancient wood carving of the Apsaras was well rendered in animated posture. The wood texture was revealed by enduring age. Date: 13th/14th century. Provenance: Nepal. Dimensions: 41.5cm x 25cm x 13cm.

A Junyao cup was in bluish glaze and was decorated in the cavetto with purplish red splash. It was in perfect condition with fine crackles revealed in the glaze. A Yaozhou shallow bowl was in decent look with persimmon glaze. The glaze was covered all over the surface except to the foot ring. The foot ring was shaped in domed edge and was revealed with the body clay in gray tint when stingy-feel burial adhesives(BaoJiang) was preserved on the tip of the foot ring for verification. Wheel-turned in flat circular rim and with trumpet foot, this porcelain ware was in form of the characteristic metal counterpart of the dated periods or earlier.
