Kozuka in sentoku inlaid with silver, gold plated strip (not gilded) details inlaid in solid gold. Antique Japanese Edo period 1600-1868, Samurai war hat Nirayama Jingasa kabuto made of finely hand-woven bamboo fiber with a black lacquered exterior, adorned on each side with gold samurai nobility family crest - moon. The interior is lacquered with red urushi.

CONDITION: Showing age and usage, signs of wear from time and long use, some lacquer loss around the edges, and minor crazing to the lacquer finish but remains in very good condition considering its age, still flexible.

Antique Chinese ruyi scepter carved of boxwood in a naturalistic representation of a lingzhi mushroom. Long and elegantly curved with smaller lingzhi sprouting from it's stem. Beautifully carved with great attention to detail and form. Ruyi scepters were used in Chinese Buddhist ceremonies and as symbols of good fortune, luxury and power.
