Decorated with dragons, fish, butterflies and long life characters, inlaid with glass beads. The enamels in green, red, purple and several shades of blue. Japanese Burl Hibachi, possibly used for japanese tea ceremonies. The natural burl wood has the appearance of 13 turtles climbing and resting on the sides. Measures 13" wide 10" tall. Meiji period circa 1900

A beautifully rendered statue of Lu Xing, the Chinese God of Wealth and one of the 3 Star Gods. Richly painted in bright floral patterns and scrolling tendrils, it is in excellent condition. There are hole piercings in the ears and nose areas of Lu, and ear piercings in the child. C The sculpture measures 17" or 43.17 cm high and dates to the late Qing. Circa 1900. Marked on bottom.

There are two geometrical registers that decorate the base and middle registers. It measures 6.25" at the mouth, 5"6/8" at base, 13.25" tall.

A Japanese, Ryukyuan type, lacquer charger. Inlaid mother of pearl decoration of figures in landscape on black lacquer in the center surrounded by red lacquer. A band of black lacquer also exposed just inside the rim - also with mother of pearl inlay. The egde of the charger rubbed for that prized negoro affect of exposing the black lacquer background through an invariably worn coat of red lacquer. This sensibility in mother of pearl inlay work is typical of the Ryukyu islands (including Okinawa...
