Chinese Yuan to Ming dynasty Longquan celadon dish with everted barbed rim, the center nicely carved with a floral pattern surrounded by stylized incised floral patterns on the cavetto. The glaze is crackled overall. The underside is decorated with vertical ribbing. The characteristic unglazed burnt orange ring is within the glazed ringed foot. 10 3/8" diameter x 2" high. A black-glazed tea bowl was in a unique form. Apparently caused by firing effects, the surface of the glaze was transformed to a mysterious image that was charming and different. It was not sure if it was intentionally finished by an ingenious potter or just an accidental surprise. But it was indeed a unique and sought-after piece for real connoisseur. Date: Tang Dynasty, 10th Century. Width:11.3cm. Fitted cotton box is included.
