Design book of Japanese traditional patterns which are originally designed by Katsushika Hokusai (1760?~1849), a notable and prominent Ukiyo-e-shi. The title is "Shin-gata Kommon-cho", a new komon design book. It has a pair of two designs, which are woodblock print, black line in one page and colored in the other and each has a name. 74 patterns in a ciecle. In excellent condition. Antique Japanese globular bronze vase. Very simple with 3 raised koi fish swimming together and cresting the surface of the vase as if it were water. The raised details of their eyes are highlighted with gold inlay. Signed Shihou and dated July 18, 1926.

Magnificent hand shaped Shino Chawan, made by Kentaro Sesshu 80-90 years ago. Kentaro Sesshu is a descendant of legendary artist Shessu Toyo (1420-1506). Rare original Shanghai poster,professionally framed,from the 1930's of Jiang Qing as a young actress. There are many reproductions of this poster, but this is an original that I acquired in China many years ago. Jiang Qing was noted for being Mao Tse Tung's fourth wife and a member of the "Gang of Four." Size: Frame. 85.8 x 69 cm. Poster. 62 x 46 cm. Condition: Normal ageing cracks and some minor repairs.

Chinese wooden Rice Cake Mold with Lotus Seed design, Ca. 1930, 9 1/2" long, 3 3/4" wide-widest part, hand saw mark, the condition is used old worn out and patina on wood.

Four(4) Japanese Wooden Straw Mat or Tatami Mat Weaving Weights, Ca. 1930, 6 1/4" long, 1 1/2" diameter for various wood were used, and tied with Straw Rope, one(1) replaced with modern white Nylon rope, used for weaving for many years. The condition is worn and warm rounded patina on wood.

A mandala from the Main Kyoto Nichiren Sect Buddhist Temple Honnoji cut from a hardwood slab used in the rebuilding of the great hall in the Taisho period. Written on back is “Given in Taisho 14 (1925) to the temple supporter’s representative as a prayer for good fortune upon the occasion of the ceremonial raising of the roof beam of the main temple structure (Honden), the plackard cut from wood used in the rebuilding”. Early 20th century Chinese cloisonne vase with a compressed ovoid shaped body and a lotus bulb mouth. A stunning mounted two-tone bronze dragon wraps around vase. The vase features a scrolling lotus design on a rust colored ground. Hole remains in base where it was mounted as a lamp. In excellent condition, the vase measures 11 inches high. On base 12" high. Dates circa 1930.
