Not sealed by the artist.
Medium: Japanese woodblock print.
Condition: Excellent.

Bag made of hand spun and vegetable indigo dye cotton, with beautiful sashiko. The lining cloth is cotton which looks hand spun and has katazome (stencil-resist dye) stripes. The metal clasp works well, which is antique handmade with boat motif. Generally in good condition but has some indigo faded spots and wear in one of the corners in the bottom. The first half of the 20th century. W:29cm, L:20cm, H:3.5cm

Lifetime edition Japanese shin hanga chuban sized woodblock print titled in kanji and English "Supper Wagon" by Toshi Yoshida (1911-1995) dated Showa 13 (1938). Pencil-signed at the lower right margin and with the artist's black ink signature and red seal in the image above. Paper: 7 3/4" x 10 1/2" (image: 6 5/8” x 9 3/8”). Very good overall condition with full margins.

The artist's black ink signature and red seal are at the lower right corner of the image. The Watanabe seal is missing, but the print is old and likely dates post-WWII. Antique Japanese woodblock print by Koitsu Tsuchiya (1870-1949) entitled Moon at Sumanoura Beach. A lone villager walks on the beach lit by the full moon. In the foreground are gnarled pines.

Koitsu Tsuchiya began studying the art of woodblock printing at the early age of 15. He studied for 19 years under the ukiyo-e master, Kiyochika Kobayashi. In 1931, Koitsu turned to creating landscapes in the Shin Hanga style.
