Golden Age Antiques
$495.00 This is an attractive vintage Japanese Cloisonne vase. It is much like another piece we currently have listed but of higher quality. It may be from Ando. The wireless enamel work on the mountain and clouds is very good. Except in the foreground, the enamel colors are soft pastel tones of gray/blue. It just under 7 inches tall and 5 inches wide. There is a minor dent to bottom rim that can not be seen when on display. otherwise the condition is outstanding.

Beautiful mother of pearl inlaid in hardwood. The arms are inlaid with a scroll design. The back of the chair is inlaid with an elegant battle scene with men on horseback and a fort. The reverse of the chair is inlaid with flowers. The seat has 4 petal pattern at each corner. The legs, arms, and frame of the chair are beautifully carved with bats, plums and a scrolling pattern. Measures 41" tall, seat measures 16" wide, 17.5" tall.
A formal Japanese maru obi with auspicious designs; containers for an old shell matching game, hand drums, fans, ho-o Chinese phoenix bird and kiri leaves. It is made with a thick silk brocade and thick padding. The gold color (genuine gold) is particularly beautiful in this obi. Excellent condition. Sold to UK - September 2011 售至英国 - 2011年9月 A set of four wine cups individually painted in traditional Chinese landscape style and each bearing the verse "Xin Kuan Wang Di Zhia" which translates directly as "Heart Broad Forget Ground Narrow". The bases carry the iron red four character reign mark of the Hongxian 'emperor' (1916) but these items were probably made later, during the Republic Period, circa 1917-1949. Condition - excellent - no damages and no restoration. 4.5cm (1.75 inches) high; 6.3cm (2.3 inches) diameter.

Japanese plique-a-jour cloisonne enamel vase densely decorated with a bouquet of flowers set against a celadon green background. Chrome rims. Dates from the Occupation period (1945-1960). Measures about 3 3/4"H x 3" diameter. Very good overall condition. There is a faint interior stress crack at the shoulder that cannot be felt (see enlargements 6 and 7). The neck is very slightly tilted.

The condition of the porcelain is perfect, but the lacquer is not, some small pieces of mother of pearl are missing and some touch up paint around a section of the shoulder is evident. Still a very desirable vase that will display well. Measurements are 7 inches tall by 3 1/4 inches at the widest.
