In the 19th century the silver mounts were added by an unknown Dutch silver smith. Hallmarked with the 'old sword'. A porcelain plate painted in shades of under glaze cobalt blue, in traditional Chinese taste, depicting two ducks swimming on a pond swimming on a pond surrounded with aquatic plants. On the base is a six character reign mark of the Kangxi emperor within a double circle which reads "Da Qing Kangxi Nian Zhi" ("Great Qing Kangxi Year Made). Fine Edo Period Sho Bosatsu Kannon in Rare Excellent Condition, gilded wood sculpture seated on a lotus and holding a lotus in the left hand. The Bodhisattva of Compassion has never been more beautifully rendered. Height: 27 inches (68.5 cm), Width: 14 inches (35.5 cm).

Small wine cup and saucer of octagonal shape, decorated in under-glaze blue with lotus scrolls and flowers in panels. Kangxi to Yongzheng period, early 18th century. Diameter of saucer "4/ 10,5 cm, of cup "2 ¼ / 6 cm, height of cup: "1 ½ / 3,6 cm. Condition: a chip to the foot rim of the cup and a smaller one to the outer rim of the saucer (cf. photos).

A very rare Chinese veneer huanghuali cabinet with the original marble inserts. The back of the cabinet still has the original fiber coating that was used during the Ming and early Ching Dynasties. This cabinet was most likely made during the transitional period from Ming to Ching. Age: Early 18th Century Size: H.189cm W. 126cm D. 63cm Condition: All original. A very interesting chawan (tea bowl) from the Korean Joseon period (Richo in Japanese; 1392-1897). This particular piece appears to date from the 15th/ 16th century and comes with what may be the original box and a quite old silk pouch. The light creamy crackled glaze is smooth in the hand and fine hairline fractures radiating along the walls of the bowl show remnants of gold repairs from previous centuries. Beautiful half cylinder shaped (hanzutsu) tea bowl from the early stage of the Edo Period (1603 - 1868) with a rounded brim, made of iron bearing, coarse, unrefined Narumi Mino clay. The expertly thrown body was trimmed with a potter's knife in its lower part.
