A wonderful mid Edo Period (1603-1868) Hiragata Ao-Oribe Chawan with a rounded brim, made of light, coarse, unrefined Mino clay. The expertly thrown body was trimmed with a potters knife and covered with the typical green copper oxide glaze inside and outside.

The tea bowl is in fine antique condition with no cracks or repairs and comes with a very good Japanese wooden box.

Wonderful Early to Mid Edo (17-18cc) Kuro Oribe Kutsugata Chawan (distorted tea bowl) for Tea Ceremony.

This dish was made in the 18th century, during the Qianlong reign (1735 - 1796) of the Qing Dynasty. The underglaze blue decoration features a delicately drawn garden scene featuring bamboo, blossoms and a bird in flight. An elaborate floral pattern surrounds the border. Fine Large Chinese Qianlong 18th Century Imari Porcelain Dish

This fine-quality porcelain dish with attractive floral pattern in underglaze blue, red enamel and gilding, was made during the 18th century, most likely during the Qianlong reign (1736 - 1795). The bowl and cover with moulded panels of shi-shi and botan, peony flowers. All against an underglaze blue karakusa ground. The cover is surmounted by a seated shi-shi.
