SEATED BUDDHA FROM KYUSHU

First half of Edo period (1603-1868), Oita, Kyushu region, Japan, approx. H 53 x W 29 x D 20 cm (20.86 x 11.41 x 7.87in). Carved from a single wood (though with the insertion hands), with slight remains of original paint (so possibly it will comes off little more) and aged cracks (but it's stable and won't splits more). No major wormholes.

Antique Japanese figure of a Buddhist guardian, possibly Fudo Myoo, the Immovable One, the protector of Buddhism and true Buddhists. His stature, his curls, and his intense eyes are all traditional characteristics of Fudo Myoo. His red coloring is reminiscent of a Nio guardian. Chinese White Cinnabar Lacquer Box with White Jade Inlaid Plaque, 17th Century

It is 2.5 inches (6.5 cm) tall by 5.4 inches (13.7 cm) long and 4.6 inches (11.6 cm) wide. The jade is 3.57 inches (9 cm) long by 3 inches (7.6 cm) wide. The total weight is 1.1 Lb.

It has flea bite chips and inclusions at the jade, surface wears and scratches. The box has hairline cracks, repatched at the chips, stains and surface scratches (as seen in the photos).

Beautiful Chinese antique vase, 18th century (Kangxi Period, 1662-1722). It is sculpted in double gourd shape and painted with various scholar scenes and glazed in white and blue. Continuous scenes depicting figures in a landscape are a common motif in Transitional porcelain, they often referenced popular plays, histories or poems.

Very fine Kangxi mark on the bottom.

Six antique bronze opium weights from Burma. The lion-dogs are standing on an octagonal base. The four largest ones having a verification mark in front of the base. Nice patina, the smallest weight with greenish patina might be a different alloy. Weights approx.: 300 g (20 tical), 155 g (10 tical), 146 g (10 tical), 73 g (5 tical), 31 g (2 tical) and 16 g (1 tical). Dimension: largest: 5.9 cm high. Condition: nice patina, traces of age.
