His stature, his curls, and his intense eyes are all traditional characteristics of Fudo Myoo. His red coloring is reminiscent of a Nio guardian. Dragon's Pearl
$4,300.00 A large rosewood, huanghuali brush pot, bitong of simple cylindrical form with thick walls and the base with an inset plug. The wood grain has particularly nice patterns, with a few 'ghost eyes', and a wonderful deep honey-brown patina.

Condition: good with a couple of chips at the lower part and thin hairline at the bottom.

Evaluation done in the 1930's by TZ Shiota when the family was inheriting the collection from their great grandfather, Federic Torrey. The collection was stored in a trunk since his death in 1935.

Evaluation done in the 1930's by TZ Shiota when the family was inheriting the collection from their great grandfather, Federic Torrey. The collection was stored in a trunk since his death in 1935.
Age: 18th century Dimensions: 3" high x 5" wide Provenance: From the personal collection of Frederic Cheever Torrey (1864-1935), partner... Six antique bronze opium weights from Burma. The lion-dogs are standing on an octagonal base. The four largest ones having a verification mark in front of the base. Nice patina, the smallest weight with greenish patina might be a different alloy. Weights approx.: 300 g (20 tical), 155 g (10 tical), 146 g (10 tical), 73 g (5 tical), 31 g (2 tical) and 16 g (1 tical). Dimension: largest: 5.9 cm high. Condition: nice patina, traces of age.
