This is tsutsugaki & handwriting fireman's cotton coat sashiko hanten coat of a splendid firefighter of the late Tokugawa period of the Edo era(1800-1867).It is the pattern that is impressive with a dragon and the boldness of the sword. It is a very high technique. And there is sashiko stitch on the entire surface by hand. As for it, length is longish with 116cm. The lining is indigo dyeing. A rare mid 19th century large turquoise bead made into a necklace surrounded by an assortment of old beads. The large turquoise center bead is set in a silver/copper base. Highly revered in Tibet, a Turquoise stone was carried throughout one’s entire life. One nice set of cup/stand was well mold.
It was applied on the surface with persimmon glaze. The body clay revealed was whitish gray tint.
Both were in old feel.
Date: Ming periods.

Fairly large zushi hand shrine in the shape of a lotus petal. Double sided, made of sandalwood.
Inside each half is a deep relief carving of Buddhist deities. On one side the three-eyed Aizen Myoo with a lion crown, sitting on a lotus base in the clouds before a red mandorla.
