Sold. A circular red lacquer incense box imitating carved lacquer. The lid decorated with a rakan riding on a kylin. Black lacquer to the interior and with an old label: "Laque de Nara / donné par M. Morita". Condition: rims with tiny losses, lid inside with a crack and glue residue, base with some wear. Dimension: diameter: 7.8 cm, 2.4 cm high.
A bulbous holy water vessel for sacred Ganges water used by pilgrims. Made of brass and copper, decorated with six avatars (incarnations) of Vishnu. Made in the technique known as "ganga-jumna" referring to the two great rivers of North India. From a Swiss lady's private collection. Condition: small quite invisible dents. Dimension: 13.4 cm high.

The work on Mt Fuji is raised relief and give off a three dimensional look. The shape is elegant and the changing colors are vry elusive. The vase stands just over 6 inches tall and is in excellent condition.
