Antique Chinese ruyi scepter carved of boxwood in a naturalistic representation of a lingzhi mushroom. Long and elegantly curved with smaller lingzhi sprouting from it's stem. Beautifully carved with great attention to detail and form. Ruyi scepters were used in Chinese Buddhist ceremonies and as symbols of good fortune, luxury and power.

Beautifully hand carved antique Chinese lime stone seated buddha. The buddhas is dressed in long flowing robes draping the lower body in soft pleats. The face carved with fine contemplative expression giving feeling of a calm tranquility. Condition is consistent with age. Piece is very stable seated on flat surface.

Chinese antique large lobed bowl, made of heavy copper and enameled with raised repouse design of flowers and scrolling vines on the outside and with lovely yellow enamel on the inside. Standing on 3 legs, the round body of the censor has two large wing like handles, a tall neck, and is topped with a domed lid. 4 pierced characters around the lid allow for incense smoke and a seated fu-dog acts as a finial and lid handle. Chinese antique ladies blue silk embroidered dragon coat, with 7 dragons and peony flowers and butterflies, bordered with white background with small figures and flowers. Dimensions:39" long, 52" sleeve to sleeve.

Antique Chinese figure of Quan Yin. Revered as the goddess of mercy and compassion she stands holding a strand of prayer beads in her hands. Her sweeping robes are decorated with scrolling details and her hair is arranged on top of her head. Also considered the goddess of beauty, her name in Sanskrit is Padma-pani (Born of the Lotus). In Japan, she is called Kannon. This figure is carved of wood and lacquered a deep red.

Antique Chinese wooden box lacquered red and gold with designs of palace life. Noble figures and scholars stroll through gardens with fine pavilions and trees. The lid lifts to reveal a continuation of the theme.

Chinese cabinet, lacquered all over and inlaid with scenes of beautiful ladies and children in a pavilion garden setting, the sides of the cabinet are also lacquered and inlaid with scenes of birds and flowers, interior has three shelves - the middle shelf has is two drawers built in, the front of the drawers are also decorated to match the front with beautiful lacquer work of scrolling flowers, 19th century. Size: 56 1/4" high x 36 1/4" wide x 17" deep.

Antique Chinese Jun Ware (Chun Yao) chawan (tea bowl) with grey-blue glaze. Outside with drips of dark and light blue glaze mingling to create greens and browns. Evaluation done in the 1930's by TZ Shiota when the family was inheriting the collection from their great grandfather, Federic Torrey. The collection was stored in a trunk since his death in 1935.
