Antique Chinese tomb pottery clay figure of a billy goat, carefully hand-sculpted with lifelike characteristics, perky ears, a pleased expression on his face. Japanese bronze incenser in the form of Hotei, one of the Seven Lucky Gods of Fortune. Hotei is clothed with open robes, holding a gunbai fan, seated on top of his large sack. Hotei's name literally means "Cloth Sack", for he can be attributed by the large cloth sack he carries with him during his travels. He is also known as the Laughing Buddha due to his carefree happy nature despite being a wanderer with few material possessions.

A wonderful boxwood carved netsuke of five turtles climbing on top of each other. Intricate details can be seen throughout, creating a very realistic form. Each turtle has little black eyes. The large turtle on bottom has retreated into his shell and has the artist's signature delicately carved into his belly "Senzan". Size: 2.25" height, 2" width, 1.75" depth

Antique Japanese reclining black bull, wonderfully sculpted in Ceramic. Painted low-fire ceramic in good condition. Very heavy and charming. Great life like detail. Meiji Period (c. late 1800's). Size: 11" high x 23" long x 11" deep.

Qing Dynasty Chao Zhu necklace comprising 108 Peking glass beads intersperced by larger jadeite beads & fotou and glass and jadeite pendents. Two missing red clay beads. High resolution images on request.

Republic or a little later, black and red lacquered “Dou” offering stem bowl (usually fruit) for an ancestral altar table, with gilt garden and scholar’s theme. This from Guangdong and made for a Chaozhou family, aka Teo Chew, aka Chiu Chow. W: 21cm/8.2in and H: 13cm/5.1 in. There is some warpage, noted in enlargements but if just turn it the right way you won’t notice.

Wall vase in cast bronze, representing a dragon coiled on itself, its meandering body delimiting the contours of the vase. The casting must have been complicated and several holes and gaps appeared which were filled with welded bronze plates as can be seen in the detail photos. At the back a finely crafted ring allows the suspension. Most likely Japanese work. This is a very fine, large, well-hallowed, Chalcedony Snuff Bottle of circular bulbous form, with a high neck, a flat wide lip, and an oval foot rim surrounding a shallowly recessed flat foot. The translucent stone has a random mottled pattern of brown and black spots, and a textured burst of white and cream colored pattern on one side of it , nears the bottom, over a grayish and light coffee colored stone ground. It comes with an orange agate stopper with a metal collar.

Small chaire, tea caddy for use at the tea ceremony during colder months, in the shape of a double gourd. Thinly wheel turned, cream-colored stoneware covered in a translucent, finely crackled glaze. The crackle has turned brown in larger areas. Over the glaze a design of arabesques, stylized flowers and stylized waves have been applied in over-glaze blue and green enamels and gold. The cover is decorated with circles in light blue enamel and gold.
