A circular form rising to a shallow point at the center, this jingasa is made of hide and cloth shaped in a mold, then finally black lacquered. It is decorated in front with a gold lacquered mon of an enzo which represents eternity. Mounted on a custom iron stand.

Antique Japanese black lacquer box, with makie (sprinkled gold powder) designs on its top and sides. The lid shows an open book with images of bamboo and flying sparrows and a scroll with raised images of leaves and foliage, and its sides have other auspicious maki-e elements such as butterflies and flowers. The underside of the lid and lining of its two small front drawers are decorated with an orange/bronze toned nashiji.

Japanese antique large ceramic Bizen ware platter. Round in form with wide, flared rim. Unusually beautiful charcoal ash marks acquired during the firing process. Comes with a signed tomobako.
Bizen ware pottery is made of the reddish brown clay with high iron content that is found in the area around the village of Imbe in what was Bizen province (now Okayama prefecture).

Bizen ware hexogonal vase with engravings of orchids on the side of the vase. The patina and color of the vase is very similar to those seen from the late Edo and early Meiji period. Interestingly, during this period elaborate decorations and moulding were created which was popular during this time. A late 19th to early 20th century bottle, properly titled, I would say, Inbe Ito-me Heso Tokkuri or Bizen Thread textured Dimpled Bottle. A seal impressed into the base is partly illegible, but the characters Bizen-Inbe are clearly visible on the right, with the character tokoro (Place) bottom center and a name ending in Ro on the left. The vessel is 27 cm tall and in excellent condition. That size would make an excellent vase.
