A Chinese porcelain dish decorated with under glazed cobalt, famille verte enamel, and gilt. Kangxi period. Condition: there is a repaired 1/2" long shallow chip on the rim, please see photos #4 and #5 for the inside and outside views of the repair; there are a few other very tiny glaze flakes on the rim and have been repaired, a newer layer of gilt was applied to the rim. Description:

A Longquan cup was in rarely-seen Chrysanthemum shape.
Finely mold and was applied with pale green agate-feel glaze on the surface, the cup was stand on a small foot ring which in slightly everted wall.
A molding navel was in the center of the foot ring when darken brownish tint was revealed at the body clay.
Glaze crackles and obvious incursions were happened to the glaze.

The cup was finely shaped and was well glazed as those documentary counterparts. ...

With a sturdy foot firmly grounded, the upper rim of this piece rises and falls, somewhat reminiscent of a mountain path. Combined with the plum blossoms floating on the white background, these elements together suggest balance and harmony.
