A group of 39 handcarved Chinese Mother of Pearl gaming Chips dating to c. 1800-1840.

Gaming chips in Mother of Pearl were crafted in China for export to Britain, where the Georgian and Victorian aristocracy used the chips when playing parlor games.

All 39 pieces have an elliptical shape, with criss cross patterns and floral motifs engraved in hand.

A classic Longquan celadon charger of the 14th century, with a typically fluted cavetto and incised floral center, and the base with an exposed ring fired to reddish orange. Its glaze is a rich and creamy olive green, unbroken by the kind of crazing seen on later Ming Longquan wares.

A large Kangxi period famille verte charger, decorated with radiating lotus panels faming floral sprigs and rockwork. The vibrant enamels and porcelain paste is fairly representative of the mid-Kangxi reign. The color palette is however a revival of late Ming wucai pieces.

Chinese late Qing to early Republic period rosewood multi-tiered display stand carved with bamboo-form supports holding seven shelves for displaying objects. Carved bamboo leaf details are in the bottom corners. Early 20th century. 30" high x 19 3/4" wide x 10" deep. Very good overall condition.
