Lovely pair of Japanese Geisha Isho Ningyo. The style of this gorgeous set is fashioned after the work of early Japanese woodblock prints artists, such as Utamaro. They are finely painted and wear sumptuous kimonos over their graceful, elongated forms. Each figure is 12.5h x 7w inches, 32h x 18w cm. Excellent Condition.

Cranes flock to the shore, greeted by their compatriots grazing among dry winter grasses on the wave lapped beach of this anonymous pair of Mid Edo period six panel screens. Performed with Ink and pigment on paper with scattered gold flake in a blue silk border with kuwa (mulberry) wood frame and sturdy blue cloth backing. Fully remounted, each screen is 65 x 142 inches (165 x 361 cm). A quintessential Kano style Edo period scene.

The reverse decorated with further floral motifs, the base with green contre-émail. The enamel showing concavities and pits. Condition: fine, only wear to gilding. The first is in good condition, the second has a broken tail. Long: 17cm (6.7 inches) In my opinion it's a chinese work, the look and the eyes seem to me the work of a Chinese artist and not a European one,clay too. I think it's from Qing period, probably Kangxi. It's too elegant to be Ming.

Pair of small vases in cloisonné enamel on gilded copper. A beautiful identical landscape is represented on each vase, fish, rivers, birds and flowers on a background of a luminous blue sky. The wires are in silver, the base is in gilded copper. The gilding is now almost completely missing, except on the base. They are both in perfect condition, which for a pair is rare. Height 125mm. Japanese work from the end of the 19th century.
