A Fine Pair of Chinese Western Han Dynasty Painted Pottery Granaries with Original Grain !

This fine and rare pair of painted pottery jars, representing granaries, was made during the Western Han Dynasty (206 BC - AD 8). They are made from a fairly high-fired grey pottery. They have cylindrical bodies, domed tops with fairly small circular openings. The ridges to the shoulder of each jar represent roof tiles. Each jar stands on three feet moulded into the form of a bear.

Pair Chinese Green glazed on pottery Foo dog Joss Stick Holders, Ca. 1920, 5 1/4" high, 1 1/2" wide-bottom, 2 3/4" deep-base, 4 1/4" maximum depth, very nice small size, they usually used in the temples on the Altar. Some of the green glaze pieces are chipped off which is very typical for this type of green glaze on pottery pieces, no major damages. Still retained Export Wax Seal on top of the head.

A rare pair of Chinese cloisonne enamel 'holy water' bottles, Qianlong/Jiaqing, c. 1800. Height 23 cms. Iron-red decorated porcelain bottles of this shape were made in the Qianlong reign as gifts to Tibetan monks. In cloisonne, however, they are much rarer. The only pair to have come on the market in recent times were sold at Christie's New York, 18.9.2014, for USD 23,750. A single example was sold in Christie's Paris, 8.6.2010, lot 242.
