Antique Korean bandaji, blanket storage trunk. Original finish with deep, rich patina. Iron hardware with cut out designs in hinges, lock plates, corner and side bracing. The door opens downward to a large compartment with a high shelf for storing smaller items. Though these trunks were used for storage of household items, bedding was usually folded and placed on top, thus giving them the name blanket storage chest.

Extremely rare: Korean Amamori Chawan of Choson (Yi) Dynasty (1392-1910). Wan shaped tea bowl, thrown from light, refined clay, with very little iron oxide, covered with a white feldspatic glaze with fine crackles and pin holes including the small foot.

Korean 19th Century Porcelain High-Footed Bowl in Box with Shifuku

This "heavily-potted" bowl with a high foot was made in 19th century, during the late Joseon (Choson) Dynasty (AD 1392 - 1910). It is coated all over in a pale grey glaze, that seems to have just the slightest hint of blue in places. Embedded in the glaze around the foot rim are many pieces of kiln grit.

This porcelain jar of globular form was made during the 19th century toward the latter part of the Choson (Joseon) Dynasty. The underglaze blue decoration comprises floral patterns and two bands surrounding the neck. Good Joseon Dynasty, 19th century stoneware cup/bowl with high footrim and pale greenish gray glaze and gray stoneware , this is a simple regional folk ware but has a pleasing almost celadon feel to it that needs to be held to be appreciated. A very interesting chawan (tea bowl) from the Korean Joseon period (Richo in Japanese; 1392-1897). This particular piece appears to date from the 15th/ 16th century and comes with what may be the original box and a quite old silk pouch. A lovely roku-yu glazed form from the kilns of Korea mounted on a tri-pronged rosewood stand and enclosed in a period kiri-wood box. It is 12 inches (30 cm) tall plus the stand. White blossoms decorate a scattering of branches on the surface of this footed sweets dish by Kondo Yutaka enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled FunKa Daizara.
