Fine Large Chinese Ming Dynasty Blue & White Porcelain Dish
This blue & white "Swatow" porcelain dish, or shallow bowl, was made during the Wanli Reign (1573 - 1620) of the Ming Dynasty. It is coated in a thick glaze and decorated in underglaze cobalt blue. The decoration features a pheasant in a garden. The inner wall is undecorated and around the flat rim there are six roundels containing floral patterns surrounded by a repeating diaper pattern... This blue & white "Swatow" porcelain dish was made during the Wanli Reign (1573 - 1620) of the Ming Dynasty. The decoration is the "double phoenix" pattern, two phoenixes standing facing each other, presumably male and female, surrounded by foliage and peony blossoms...

Sold on Layaway Chinese transitional period compressed ovoid form jar decorated in underglaze blue with birds and insects flying among bamboo and flowering plants emerging from rockery set against a white porcelain ground. The upright glazed neck is decorated with downward pointed leaves. Glazed interior and flat slightly recessed unglazed base. 17th century. Measures nearly 12" high. Very good overall condition. There is a fine old brown chicken foot crack in the interior (see image)...

Chinese Qing dynasty Kangxi marked baluster form cabinet vase densely decorated in underglaze blue on a white porcelain ground with four vertical rectangular landscape panels surrounded by a background of flowers floating on water. Geometric bands at the top rim. Slightly flared base and unglazed stepped foot. A robust and well executed six-character kaishu Kangxi period mark in a double ring is on the glazed base. 6 3/4" high. Possibly of the period and no later than circa 1900...
