A nice rare Chinese Five dynasty or later Yue ware covered box in lotus flower pattern moulded, still in good condition except not so bad glaze corrosion and fainting crack lines/ crazing over the cover area top that is not thru when contain water, probably firing crack or star crack caused by water pressure on the top cover, obviously not from the side up crack caused by hard knock , please ask for detailed pictures if needed as I can't explain it.

The decoration is in underglazed blue with a clear glaze containing a faint blue tint. The base is unglazed and unmarked showing the finely grained paste. Excellent condition, no chips, cracks or repairs; wood stand not included. DIMENSIONS: 11 1/4” diameter (28.5 cm) x 2 1/8" high (5.4 cm).

Inside center with also reversed of ruyi white on blue, encircled by key fret pattern to rim. Condition is good with two slight long hairline, the cobalt blue tone is fine like indicated on the pictures. Seal mark to base, Ming dynasty Jiajing period. Diameter: 18.5cm
