Antique Chinese 8 panel coromandel screen with a carved lacquer palace scene of noble figures on one side, pine trees and animals on the other. An inscription states that the screen was carved in the eleventh month of the thirty-second year of Kangxi. There is a poem that talks about the proud and powerful pine tree reaching for the sky and an approaching storm. The inscription also mentions a congratulations to Guo Zanzhang, a candidate for the the title of Dengshilang...

Circa 1890-1910, pair of red cinnabar lacquer lamped vases with shades. The vases feature expertly carved scholarly garden scenes on the front and back sides. Mounted as table lamps with pierced hardwood stands, hardwood neck blocks, along with all updated brass hardware and electrical, they are home ready.

These polylobed wooden cups covered with a thick layer of sculpted cinnabar red lacquer were to be used as planters. The interiors and undersides are lacquered in black. It is very likely that the interiors were lined with gilded copper or tin containers, in order to protect the lacquer from permanent humidity, the black lacquered backgrounds suffered from this humidity.A fractured place reveals a piece of textile...

The convex sides are decorated in floral reserves interspersed with scrolling foliage. The box is presented on a carved wood stand having several coats of cinnabar lacquer, giving it the appearance of a solid carved cinnabar stand. Extremely well done and deeply carved, the scene depicts a well known Chinese story about Kuan Ti’s defense of Lin Bang's wife before the advance of Hsian Yu. Please note the beautifully carved horse. In excellent condition, the box including stand measures 5.5" diameter x 5.5" high...

A deeply carved Chinese cinnabar seal paste box measuring about 2.75 inches diameter and 1" high. It is a superb example of early bright red cinnabar lacquer. Being 225 years old, it has been very well kept. Dates circa 1780.

Decorated with alternating layers of black and red cinnabar lacquer deeply carved to create intricate designs, the box has a beautiful sheen to the surface so that the layers of lacquer simply pop! Antique pair of deep brown lacquer bowls. Carved all over with detailed scenes of scholars in gardens and pavilions in the mountains. Dramatic rock formations and various trees. The inside and bottom of each bowl is lacquered black. The rim and foot are ringed in bronze.
