Chinese late Qing to early Republic period lady’s robe embroidered in polychrome silk and gold couched thread on a black silk ground. Eight gilt dragon and phoenix bird roundels are on the front, back, and shoulders. The bottom of the robe is gilt decorated in the traditional pattern of waves, stylized mountains, and diagonal bands of upright water (li shui) permeated with auspicious symbols. Beautiful Chinese fragment of a dragon robe, Kangxi period, Qing dynasty. Decorated with 3 five-clawed dragons. A front faced dragon located at the chest area while the other two dragons holding fire pearl looking upward and flying above the sea waves. The last enlargement illustrates the relevant piece at its original appearance. P.S. in 2012 or 2013, a similar fragment with only the lower half part sold at USD 11,000. Dimensions: 130 x 62cm...

$550.00 Antique Chinese framed blue silk embroidery which appear to be sleeve bands that are stitched together. The textile is decorated with two phoenix, two dragons, and Chinese seal script. All are hand applied using gold gilt wrapped threads. In excellent condition, measures 27" x 15" including frame. The silk measures 21.5" x 10". Dates circa 1900.

This is especially true when it is used in the decorations for weddings or royalty along with dragons... Chinese Qing dynasty horizontal silk kesi panel decorated on opposing sides with warriors on horseback preparing to attack the figures at the center shown inside the city wall in a scene from the historic novel “Romance of the Three Kingdoms (San Guo Yan Yi).” Circa 1900. 47” x 18 1/2." Generally good overall condition with some splits/separations evident and typical signs of age. Phoenix, Arizona collection.
