A Chinese export plate from the first part of the 18th century, Yongzheng or early Qianlong. Decoration in Famille rose enamels of a large peony in bloom with an orange ribbon and some other scattered flowers, all surrounded by a thin diaper border in matte turquoise. Chinese late Qing dynasty sang-de-boeuf (oxblood) flambé glazed cylindrical form censer. The oxblood glaze drips inside at the rim above the thick off-white glaze lining the interior. The censer rests upon vestiges of three small tripod legs. The base is unglazed and has burnt orange.
