A pendant of combined pieces: a carved green jade seated figure on a cloud of swirling mist from which hangs three gourd-shaped green jade pieces. The chain is set with little shòu (longevity) symbols with bats and hung with more gourd-shaped jades. All pieces are mounted with silver and the clasp is stamped.

The bowl is covered overall with a lustrous glaze of reddish-brown tone, stopping irregularly above the foot exposing the dark purplish-brown body.

Condition: good. Free from damage, cracks or repair.
Provenance: From an Oxford collection of early Chinese ceramics that we managed to purchase. By repute, the gentleman collector, now deceased, had spent some time working in China.

£420.00 A Chinese, white ware, bowl; Jin to Yuan dynasty. Of an elegant shape, this high-footed bowl is over-all covered by an ivory coloured glaze, except for the unglazed foot and inner base which show the oat-meal coloured paste. There are five tiny indentations from kiln supports to the interior of the bowl. From a Northern kiln, probably Shanxi province; possibly the Huozhou or Jiexiu kiln.

Condition: Overall good condition, with the exception of a 2 cm hairline at the rim...

Provenance: from the deceased estate of a North Yorkshire collector; acquired in China in the first half of the C20th.
Condition: A chip to the inner rim with an associated hairline crack which terminates towards the foot.
