$7,400.00 A delicately cast fire gilt image of the Four-armed Avalokitesvara (Tibetan: Chenrezig; Chinese: Sibi Guanyin), the Bodhisattva who embody the Universal Compassion. seated in Dyana-asana on a lotus flower, with Amitabha head on top of the chignon, the upper hands holding a prayer beads and a lotus; the lower ones in worshiping Mudra ( Anjiali Mudra).
Unsealed. Eastern Tibet, 17th cent. H 13 cm. Condition: very good, but with some rubbing to gilding, eyes and lips with rest of colours .

Nicely mounted on a custom stand. Very good condition despite some abrasion dua to age. Provenance: collected in situ in 1976.
Himalayan altar dedicated to Buddha, with an elaborate arch with two pillars resting on two lions. The Buddha himself is represented standing on a lotus, in "varada mudra", and is surmounted by a small Amithaba Buddha above his head. Bronze, with fine age patina. Nepal, early 19th century. €700.00 Finely cast statue, with nice details, of Sadaksari Lokeshvara 'also knwon as Kharchheri, the "Lord of the Six Syllables" belonging to the mantra "Om Mani Padme Hum". Sadaksari is sitting on a lotus throne, and has four arms. In one hand he holds the "akshamala", which serves to count the number of times the mantra is spoken. In the other hand he holds the lotus of absolute purity. Furthermore, he holds the magic jewel Cintamani in front of his chest...

Remains of colors.The brownish stone, probably a type of soapstone, has been partly polished. Tibet, 17–18th cent. H 13.2 cm. Condition: Very good all-over with a few minor chips. No re-stuck parts or repairs.

A small but very beautiful mandorla for a double image in gilt, hammered copper of the highest quality decorated with twenty-one images representing Buddhas, bodhisattvas, protectors and Vidyarajas. The central top images being Vajrasattva. On a fitted metal stand. Tibet, 15t cent. H 14.5 cm, W 14.5 cm. Condition: Small piece lost to top of mandorla and very minor rubbing. Otherwise excellent.

Buddha sat in a mediative pose, one hand in his lap, the other connects to the earth. The head has been dressed with gold paint, the hair exhibits traces of blue. A good quality sculpture that seems to have had a hard life and has seen better days. There is a bruise to each upper arm, one larger than the other and some distortion to the bottom of the lotus base. Approximately 9.5 cm high...
