A delicately cast fire gilt image of the Four-armed Avalokitesvara (Tibetan: Chenrezig; Chinese: Sibi Guanyin), the Bodhisattva who embody the Universal Compassion. seated in Dyana-asana on a lotus flower, with Amitabha head on top of the chignon, the upper hands holding a prayer beads and a lotus; the lower ones in worshiping Mudra ( Anjiali Mudra). Unsealed. Eastern Tibet, 17th cent. H 13 cm. Condition: very good, but with some rubbing to gilding, eyes and lips with rest of colours .

Statue of a household protecting deity, with minimalist features, standing in "namaste" posture. Wood, with dark patina probably due to soot. Nepal, 19th century. Height: 44.5 cm. Nicely mounted on a custom stand. Very good condition despite some abrasion dua to age. Provenance: collected in situ in 1976.

Himalayan altar dedicated to Buddha, with an elaborate arch with two pillars resting on two lions. The Buddha himself is represented standing on a lotus, in "varada mudra", and is surmounted by a small Amithaba Buddha above his head. Bronze, with fine age patina. Nepal, early 19th century. A pair of Architectural ornaments carved in relief to represent female dancers, with symmetrical postures, inside niches. Wood, with age patina. Nepal, early 19th century, maybe earlier. Height: 29.7 cm. Provenance: acquired in Hong Kong from an antique dealer in 1989.

Finely cast statue, with nice details, of Sadaksari Lokeshvara 'also knwon as Kharchheri, the "Lord of the Six Syllables" belonging to the mantra "Om Mani Padme Hum". Sadaksari is sitting on a lotus throne, and has four arms. In one hand he holds the "akshamala", which serves to count the number of times the mantra is spoken. In the other hand he holds the lotus of absolute purity. Furthermore, he holds the magic jewel Cintamani in front of his chest...

A very fine and extremely rare, stone-carved image of Vajrapani (Acala) in sexual union (yab-yum) with his consort. The deity has curling snakes around his ankles. Remains of colors.The brownish stone, probably a type of soapstone, has been partly polished. Tibet, 17–18th cent. H 13.2 cm. Condition: Very good all-over with a few minor chips. No re-stuck parts or repairs.

A very rare Mandorla for use in a double image A small but very beautiful mandorla for a double image in gilt, hammered copper of the highest quality decorated with twenty-one images representing Buddhas, bodhisattvas, protectors and Vidyarajas. The central top images being Vajrasattva. On a fitted metal stand. Tibet, 15t cent. H 14.5 cm, W 14.5 cm. Condition: Small piece lost to top of mandorla and very minor rubbing. Otherwise excellent.

A finely carved wooden image of Vajradakini holding kapala in the raised left hand and chopper in the lowered right hand. She is naked except for her ornaments and skull garland. Mostly carved from a single piece of wood, a part a piece of the garland. Remains of original painting. Size: H. 14,3 cm. Tibet, 18th cent. Condition: Very good, only minor brake to left side of the skull garland.

A finely carved wood image of the standing Avalokitesvara Ekadasamukha, depicted in his classical form with 11 heads and eight arms. Ekadasamukha is an esoteric form of Avalokitesvara of Vajrayana Buddhism The Eleven-head Avalokiteshvara 3 levels of 3 heads, are rendered in peaceful countenances, the tenth head is that of the wrathful Mahakala, followed on top by the head of Buddha Amitabha...

A powerful image of Padmasambhava also known as Guru Rimpoche, the reputed founder of Tibetan Buddhism. Carved mostly of a single piece of precious dark purple sandalwood (zitan). Remains of colours and gold. Tibet, 17–18th cent. H 15 cm. Condition: Very good but of course with wear due to age. The trident (khatvanga) is missing.

A real antique Tibetan image! Powerful and quite rare wood image depicting Hayagriva, the wrathful emanation of Avalokiteshvara, with a horse head appearing from his skull, a dorje in his right hand; he is wearing a long necklace of skulls (the center, lower part is lost), he wears a human and elephant skin on his shoulders ( the lower, left corner of the “skin†is broken, old brake). H. 17 cm. (6,7 inches). Tibet, late 18th cent.

Finely cast, with fine details, miniature statue of Bodhisattva Tara, the Buddhist Goddess of Compassion, wearing a diadem, a dhoti and jewelry, sitting on a lotus throne in "lila asana" posture with her right foot resting on a lotus flower. A lotus in full blossom is resting on each arm. Bronze, with nice age patina. Tibet, early 20th century. Height: 5.4 cm. Very good condition.

A Tibetan Bronze figure of Shakyamuni, 19th century or earlier.

Buddha sat in a mediative pose, one hand in his lap, the other connects to the earth. The head has been dressed with gold paint, the hair exhibits traces of blue. A good quality sculpture that seems to have had a hard life and has seen better days. There is a bruise to each upper arm, one larger than the other and some distortion to the bottom of the lotus base.

Finely cast gilt bronze statue of Hindu god Vishnu, wearing a diadem with a flaming aureola at the back, necklaces bracelets and a dhoti, holding his attributes with his four arms. The god is standing on and backed by the Naga. India, late 19th century. Height: 15 cm. Very good condition. NOTE: Images of Vishnu typically depict him with four arms, holding his attributes: the club, wheel, conch and lotus flower. The club is a symbol of Vishnu's divine power, and the wheel, a symbol of the sun...

This is an authentic Tibetan cast bronze Buddha, shown in the "earth-touching" gesture,witnessing his divinity, and sealed with a double-dorje (vajra) impressed mark. The piece is complete and retains the consecration in the interior of the statue. The piece measures 3-1/2" in height and is in excellent condition, save for a small, nearly invisible, crack along the front of the neck,as shown in the photos. The head has not been broken off or reattached and the piece is completely stable...

Quirky image of Ganesh accompanied by four rats as devotees and musicians. This is from the last half of the 20th century- possibly a tribal image. For the most part most of the iconography and i.e., accoutrements, mudras and association of rats accompanying him are correct.
