$1,800.00 Small Gelugpa school of Buddhism Thangka depicting the Blue form of Vayravarahi flanked by the other 4 colour Dhyani Buddha Dakinis.
She is clearly recognisable by the three and the sow’s head emerging from her hair. She stands in the centre of a halo of flames, in dancing pose with her attributes: a chopper, a blood filled skull cup, and a Tantric staff. On top is depicted the 5th Dalai Lama.

Unsealed. Eastern Tibet, 17th cent. H 13 cm. Condition: very good, but with some rubbing to gilding, eyes and lips with rest of colours .

The piece is in outstanding condition, measuring 47" X 29", not including the fringe. Backed with a patterned trade textile. The piece dates to no later than the first quarter of the 20th century. In over 50 years of collecting, this is only the second one of its type that I have seen on the market. A rare opportunity.

$1,650.00 Tibetan antique Buddhist conch shell trumpet (sankha). The shell is wrapped in silver which has an intricate repoussé design of scrolling vines and auspicious objects. It is inset with small cabochons of coral, turquoise and lapis. The conch shell itself is considered auspicious. It represents the deep, melodious sound of the Buddha's voice which wakes up disciples "from the slumber of ignorance".

Himalayan altar dedicated to Buddha, with an elaborate arch with two pillars resting on two lions. The Buddha himself is represented standing on a lotus, in "varada mudra", and is surmounted by a small Amithaba Buddha above his head. Bronze, with fine age patina. Nepal, early 19th century. Height: 20.5 cm. Very good condition.
