On Hold This is a beautiful rare, wire and wireless vase from Ando. Gonda was probably the artist. It's a big vase standing 30 inches tall. Has beautiful enameling with delicate tonal changes that do not show up well in the images. The vase is in very good condition overall, but does have an excellent fill, an bit bigger than a thumbnail on the back side. See last image.
Japanese totai cloisonne on an Awata-type ceramic lidded tea jar, or cha-ire, decorated with opposing black and blue ground bird and flower panels set against an iron-red background filled with colorful leafy vines. Signed "Yasuda" on the base. This mark is #47 on page 259 of Fredric Schneider's "The Art of Japanese Cloisonne Enamel." Circa 1880s-1890s. 4 1/2" high. Very good overall condition. There are two tiny fleabites on the lid. From a Tucson, Arizona collection.

275.00 Japanese Showa period cloisonne enamel vase decorated with two prominent cattleya orchids set against a pale yellow wireless ground. The counter enamel at the interior mouth and base is pale yellow and in the interior of the vase is purplish brown. Chrome rims. No mark but likely produced by the Ando Cloisonne Company. 9 3/4" high x about 6" diameter at the shoulder. Very heavy for its size. Circa 1945-1960s. Very good overall condition.
