Oriental Treasure Box
$950.00 Japanese early 20th century iron kettle by KIRYUDO. This pot is done with a pair of crane on a pine tree design in low relief on the front side of the kettle. The handle on the lid is done in the shape of a pine cone. KIRYUDO is done in chop mark on the back side of the kettle along with some other illegible characters. This iron pot measures 9 3/4" tall (from base to top of upright handle), 7 1/2" wide and 7 1/8" deep.
The Kura
Sold, Thank you! A Gyokusendo hand formed copper vase decorated with dragonflies enclosed in the original signed wooden box dating from the 1950s. It is 8 inches (20 cm) tall, 9 inches (22 cm) diameter and in excellent condition.
The Kura
Sold A bronze Tanuki dressed in robes and holding a Nyoi (priest scepter) sits yelping into the air, as if surprised at being discovered for his true nature. Dating from the Meiji or possibly Taisho period, it is 10 x 8 x 9-1/2 inches (25 x 21 x 23 cm) and on the base has written in red “4th year” followed by a series of letters to which I have yet to discern a meaning. Likely Meiji 4 (1871).

She is wonderfully sculpted with realistic detailing and form. The hardwood stand she is seated on is carved to look like rock formations with leaves and mushrooms with pigment traces. 18th century or later. Dimensions: 12"H x 4" W x 4" D Japanese Meiji period bronze model of a striped tiger standing on rockery preparing to attack a coiled striking snake. Square form Genryusai Seiya mark to base. Custom lacquered wood stand included. Circa 1890. Measures about 15”H x 16”L x 9 ½”D (excluding wood stand). Very good overall condition with excellent naturalistic detail and a nice dark brown patina. This bronze sculpture is from an old Scottsdale, Arizona collection.

A lappet band extends around the circumference where the top of the incurving shoulder meets the short, straight neck with everted rim. The ovoid form body rests on a splayed base. £195.00 An Early Japanese Bronze Mirror, Kagami, Circa 1600. (No.1)
This bronze mirror (kagami) was almost certainly made in the Momoyama period. It has a turtle (minogame) as a central boss, pierced for a cord. It also features a pair of cranes, their beaks touching the head of the turtle as in the act of kissing. This beneath a splendid pine tree. Under the turtle is found the inscription 'Tenjō' (?) possibly meaning Heaven.

SOLD Unusual large pair of antique giboshi (bridge finials). Made of bronze mixed with a substantial amount of copper. This can be seen in areas of where people's hands have rubbed back the finish. A lovely almost black patina with areas of green. Very heavy and solid. Unusual to have a matching pair this size. Mid Edo Period (circa 1800's).
