white lines defining this tea bowl defy the superlative rendition of a bird snapping up an insect from a hibiscus by Ogata Gekko within. The bowl is 4-1/2 inches (11.5 cm) diameter, 3 inches (7.5 cm) tall and in fine condition. It comes wrapped in a silk bag and enclosed in a superb kiri-wood box.

A large shinto shrine constructed in the style based on the Grand Shrine of Ise. This type of construction for small shrines is often used by the local residents in Ise. This handled American coin silver cup was made by William K. Vanderslice in San Francisco, CA, circa 1870, consisting of a simple tapered cylindrical form with rope banding around rim and base. Vanderslice was an early California silversmith, working in the mid 19th century. He became widely acclaimed for his fine silverwork. Antique Japanese hanging silk scroll from the 19th century, Meiji 1868-1912. There is a beautiful scene of a courtesan and pair of Kamuro order, attendants, walking under a blossoming cherry blossom tree. The screen is signed by Koryusai with seal. It measures 18.25" wide by 24.5" long.

This is a very fine set of Japanese Imari Nesting Bowls. It is rare to get a set of this quality in this fine of condition. These bowls are old and they are antiques. The largest bowl measures 10 inches across and 4 1/4 tall. The condition is excellent on all three.

Seated Jizo Bosatsu figuratively sculpted from granite, the centrally placed hands holding a hoju (sacred jewel). Mid-Edo Period ca. 1725. Minor old loss. Variegated lichen accumulation.

A tower of geometric in silver and red by Kawano Eichi enclosed in the original signed wooden box. The pebble textured surface and straight lines of the side are juxtaposed by the irregular and angular patterns of silver, like the outline of stones leading to a temple cast in shadow across the sides. The vase is 13 inches (33.5 cm) tall, 4 inches (10 cm) square and in fine condition.
Eichi was born in Osaka, 1943, and was raised in the post-war era of huge change...

A late Edo iron tsuba with chisled decoration of a pine trunk and boughs on one side and flowering prunus blossom with bamboo on the other side. The three representations comprising the "Three Friends of Winter". The simplicity of the chiseled smooth surface successfully imitating sumi-e painting. Japanese woodblock print by the artist Amano Kazumi. The print depicts a lively scene of a banquet in the entertainment district with geishas and other performers. Tetsuya Noda, born 1940 in Kyushu. The art is a framed silkscreen mixed media work, part of the "Diary" series dated August 26th, 1985. The image and title is of his home town in Kayuwara. The edition is 11 of 15. The image size is 36 x 23 inches and 47.5 x 35.625 inches with frame. Excellent condition. Noda is part of the Sōsaku-hanga art movement and is considered a major 20th century Japanese artist.

An antique Japanese kuruma tansu coming from the Mikuni region. The tansu is fitted with iron fittings to retain the condition of the tansu and to protect the vulnerable areas of the chest.
