$380.00 OBJECT AS QUAD VASE Such a unique supernatural creation composed of four pieces of Japanese Seto ware tokkuri (sake flasks) sticking to each other in a row in the kiln-firing as a coincidence, 19th century, approx... Vintage Japanese Showa period ink and color on paper scrolled painting of trees by Uda Tekison (1896-1980). The black ink signature and red artist’s “Tazen” seal are at the lower right. Included is a signed tomobako wood presentation box. Mid-20th century. Painting: 16 1/2” x 20 3/8” (scroll: 55 1/2” x 26 1/4"). Very good overall condition. From a Tucson, Arizona estate.

Kutani Ware has been produced near Kaga mountain in Ishikawa prefecture of Japan from as early as 17 century. Kutani porcelain can be characterized by rich overglaze enamels and beautiful hand-painted motifs. Size 1.05in. (2.7cm.) high; 2.3in. (5.9cm.) diameter; 95g weight. Condition Very good considering the age. No chips, no cracks. Supplied with old box.

A unique creation of Mother Nature with minor modification to the root wood grown around a stone to emulate a standing Daruma, the Patriarch of Zen Buddhism wrapped in his robe. It is as if drifts of snow have piled up on the garden stones, leaving dark recesses filled with shadow in the low winter light, a fabulous Tsubo by Kimura Morinobu enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled Kuroji Kakewake Hakuyu Tsubo. It is 26 cm (10-1/4 inches) tall, 25.5 cm (10 inches) diameter and in excellent condition. This is one style for which Morinobu is very well known and unique to him.
