The arhat is represented seated in the position of "royal relaxation". His asceticism is confirmed by his excessively protruding ribs. His hair is curly as are his beard and his eyebrows. The protrusion of his forehead testifies to his wisdom. His posture is serene, the facial expression is concentrated and meditative. Beautiful cast iron, no defects, excellent finish with file and scraper. Probably Japanese rather than Chinese work...

Meiji (1868-1912) Japanese Wireless Goldstone Cloisonne Tripod Censer Koro with Insect, Squash, & Dove Bird

It is 4.64 inches (11.8 cm) tall by 4.72 inches (12 cm) wide. It is 1.2 lb.

It has excessive enamels at the inside, enamel pitting and small holes, enamel bruising and cracks at the inside, and surface wears and scratches (as seen in the photos).
