There is some kiln grit in the cavetto as well as three minor hairline stress cracks. H: 8.7cm/3.5in and D: 13.1cm//5.2in.

A well potted octagonal dish inlaid with black and white slip chrysanthemum on octagonal exteriors and molded with floral heads on interiors, 3 spur marks on base, applied rich celadon glazed surfaces evenly.

The chrysanthemum fertility symbol that also adorns this bowl is more common. But the rendering here is unique, with chrysanthemums in the center of the bowl surrounded by lotus blossoms, a symbol of rebirth because the lotus rises above the muck of the pond to show its face to the Sun. Lovely floral scrolls encircle both the inner and outer circumference...
This is a large Goryeo celadon bowl with a greyish green glaze. The bowl has a wide, shallow shape with a slightly flared rim and a small foot. The glaze appears smooth and evenly applied, characteristic of Goryeo celadon ware.
There are visible cracks and a small chip on the rim, indicating its antique condition. The bowl's surface shows signs of age and use, adding to its historical value...
