Heron (Egret) on a Willow Tree Size: Approximately 17 x 12 cm. 6.625 x 4.75 inches. Date: ca. 1910. Koson signature and seal at upper right. Publisher: Matsumoto (no. 437). Reference: AK.12 in Crows, Cranes and Camellias: The Natural World of Ohara Koson (Reigle Newland). Medium: Japanese woodblock print. Condition: Excellent. Slight wave in paper around original publisher's label at back. A few marks in sky. An early and rarely seen desig... Large Japanese early Meiji period sumi ink on paper scroll by calligrapher Ito Keishu (aka Ito Shinpei), who was active circa 1870s to 1890s. Signed and with three red seals. Paper mount and wood scroll ends.
The scroll measures 79” x 32 1/2" (painting size: 54 1/2" x 26”). Good intact condition with some rubbing and soiling evident. There is a small distressed area or repair to the paper mid-way down the scroll on the right side (see enlargement). The top mount has a few old paper r...

$275.00 A pair of antique Japanese candlesticks dating to the Meiji period 1868-1911. The stands are made of copper and measure about 17 1/2" tall x 5 1/2" in diameter, across the weighted bottoms. The stands have been engraved with an assortment of family mons, both on the bases, and up the sticks. The condition is very good. There are no dents or broken pieces, and a dark patina has developed over the years. The asking price includes shipment within the USA.
