sold Stunning original 17th century Japanese Amida Buddha statue, gold gilt over wood with inlaid crystal on his third eye and his crown chakra. He stands on an open lotus pedestal atop a circular step base, his hands performing the virtaka mudras. Behind him is a canopy of lingzhi smoke and 7 boddhisatvas seated in the heavens. The reverse of the carving has a small iron plaque with Kiri leaf mon of the Ashikaga clan, waves, and a calligraphy brush.

SOLD A beautiful stand mounted Japanese architectural (corbal) carving of ocean waves. One of this detail and design would have been built into the architecture of a temple. It is made in Toriyama in Tochigi prefecture, north of Kanto Plane. Washi has been made in the region from about 700 years ago. It is made by Fukuda Washi Producer. In excellent condition. $950.00 This glass inside painting snuff bottle is 3 1/4" high, 2" wide and 7/8” thick. The bottle has a dark agate cap. The snuff bottle is dated 1997. The artist’s name is Yu Shi. Yu Shi's original name is Zhang Yu-Xiao. He was born in 1979 in Hebei province. He enjoys painting Buddha, Guan-Yin, Bodhidharma and other Buddhist figures. One side of the snuff bottle is the image of Daruma (達磨) and the other side is Budai or Hotai (布袋和尚). It is in great condition.
